Designing Albums

Here is a sneak peek at some of the album pages I'm working on at the moment. These spreads are from Jo & Todd's wedding a couple of weeks ago. Jo loves big images, so I've used most of the page whenever possible. I've also use a few subtle textures on some of the images and backgrounds - a bit hard to see in the thumbnails below, but they look cool.

And while on the topic of "work in progress", here is a little before and after photoshoped images. We are often asked if we photoshop our images, the answer is - yes all photos that make it into the album get retouched. Sometimes a little, sometimes (like those below) a little extra.

The above image has fairly heavy retouching of the colour tones and contrast.
It's designed to tie in with the album background & other images on the page.

Here is some more subtle enhancement. Most of our retouching is done to add some punch to the colours, however here I've also removed the out of focus table from the bottom right.

This is about as heavy handed as we get. Any distracting elements in the hallway have been removed (green exit signs, smoke alarm, air-conditioning vents etc). We have also overlayed a texture and burnt in the edges to add some drama. The bride herself has not be altered in anyway.

Katherine & Gavin

Katherine & Gavin were married at St Michael's Anglican Cathedral in Wollongong on Saturday. It was and early start for a change, with the ceremony kicking off at 10:30am. We had great fun and another perfect day (I can't believe it's still winter!).
Family photos were at the church followed by a quick lap of Wollongong then onto the reception at The Lounge.

It's a long day when your a page boy : )

Jo & Todd

Jo & Todd were married at Marter Dai chappel in Camden. It turned out to be a perfect winter's day. We started with the bride at Rydges Hotel in Campbelltown, with a quick dash to grab the guys before the ceremony. Family and location photos were at Marter Dai then onto Belgenny Farm for a few more location shots and the reception.

This shot is in the hallway outside Jo's room.
The lights on the walls make for a great image.

Perfect afternoon light for this shot of the girls.
